Referring to my previous post about ”Benefits of working in England” - now is the time to write about detriments.
Everyone thinks that working in England is an idyll. However, I believe that no matter where you work, you have to work very hard for success. If you have some ambitious plans for the future, then, unfortunately, you have to roll up your sleeves and aim for the goal. You will not achieve success, waiting for a miracle.
As I run an international business, I had the opportunity to talk to citizens of different countries. Each of them have different experiences related to emigration, and each of them described the different adverse impacts of this adventure. Let me start with the harmful effects of migration by Europeans.
For Europeans, emigration usually has one goal - to improve the financial situation. Although they achieve financial successes, they continue to complain about other deficiencies. They are saddened by the longing and lack of traditions such as Christmas, Easter, All Saints, etc. Even though they have access to products from Europe, this special holidays atmosphere is still missing. Europeans are not afraid of hard work, cold weather or stressful conditions. The only thing they fight with is longing for the home; longing for parents; and most of the time longing for the whole families. It happens that they can not stand the pressure and fall into depression, alcoholism or other addictions such as drugs or gambling. It all has a negative impact, especially on families with children, which sometimes break down in the circumstances. Children suffer the most from such separations or divorces because it is evident that a sad parent makes an unhappy child.
The opinions of the Caribbean citizens are very different from the European ones because they complain the most about the weather. They hate this English weather! In addition to the weather, they can not enjoy their flavours and exotic products. They are missing their traditional food and exotic fruits. Most of them are in the opinion that people in the UK are programmed like robots and without life. They are explaining that in the Caribbean, rivers and streams, forests and parks, streets and houses are full of music, singing and joy. There is silence in England. People live in peace closed in the comfort of their home. They rarely talk to the neighbours, and loud behaviour can cost you a ticket with a penalty fee. Some of them state that English events are tedious and stiff. They devote themselves to their children, families or themselves because their main goal is to ensure safety, expand professional experiences and proper education. After that, many of them make sacrifices for branded clothes! This statement is the most shocking one!
It's time for Asians! Believe it or not, but they do not complain. They don't worry or stress over anything. The weather is OK; the food is OK; the landlord is OK; the boss is OK. Excellent attitude to life, sometimes I envy them because they have such a peaceful soul, especially Filipinos. They believe that everything that happens is for a reason. I'm not sure if it's only appearances or real feelings, but I know one thing for sure - none of them complain, and they take everything that life will bring them. Is this an excellent way to emigrate? I do not know, it's hard to say, but they are happy over here because as they said: "they have a purpose in it".
If you have other negative influences from work or living in the UK, leave a comment and share your opinion. We will be more than happy to hear from you.
Thanks for your time
